This standard specifies the technical requirements concerning sand abrasion,which shall be applied to the process of type selection,hydraulic design,manufacture,installation,operation,maintenance and overhaul of hydraulic turbine.
This standard is applicable to the hydropower stations equipped with reaction hydraulic turbines.
NOTE When water is of corrosive nature or with high pH value,extra protective measures should be considered for turbines.
